Contestants will email entries to info@thedrinksshow.com by June 1^st, 2012 and judges will select 5 finalist entries.  Each mixed drink will be prepared and presented by the contestant to a panel of judges on Friday, June 8^th at the show.  Entries may come from skilled professionals and industry people, or from adventurous amateur mixologists. Including a photo of your cocktail with your recipe is encouraged.  Each contestant must be Smart Serve certified.

The five finalists will each receive two complimentary passes to the show and the chance to show their stuff in front of an audience. The winner of the contest will also receive a grand prize.

Rules and Regulations

All contestants must be 19 years of age or over and be Smart Serve certified.

Canadian Whisky (like Crown Royal, Gibson’s, Canadian Club and Proof Whisky) – not bourbon, scotch or Irish whiskey) must be the main alcoholic ingredient in the drink.

Multiple recipes can be submitted by contestants, however no one will be allowed to present more than one entry at the finals on-site.

The Drinks Show will provide:

• Alcoholic ingredients (available in the LCBO) and widely available mix ingredients.
• Highball, martini, and rocks glassware.
• Ice, cocktail shakers, measuring utensils, and a workstation.
• All other specialty equipment must be provided by the contestants, including garnishes (beyond lemons, limes & oranges) and uncommon mix ingredients.

All judges decisions concerning the contest, including eligibility and cocktail quality are final.

No employees of Fulcrum Media or their immediate family may participate in the contest. The same applies for judges and their families.

Prize must be accepted as awarded, no cash equivalent is available.

Your entry email will contain your FIRST NAME, LAST NAME, PHONE, EMAIL, YOUR DRINK NAME, DRINK INGREDIENT LIST AND PREPARATION INSTRUCTIONS.

Contestants at the finals will have 3 minutes to prepare cocktails for 3 judges.  Failure to execute your cocktail presentation in this time will result in disqualification.

You will select two brands of Canadian Whisky from a selection of six.  The bartender will mix up two separate cocktails, each drink will include one of your selected Whisky’s and you must determine which Whisky was used in which cocktail.  If you guess correctly your name will be entered into a draw to win the new iPad!  Participants get two sample size drinks for the price of one!  $2 for TWO sample size drinks*.  *A sample size drink is 2oz.
